Imagine finding a dog on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Then taking him to a local shelter to check for a microchip and spending over a month getting that dog returned to you to foster all the way from Alabama to Massachusetts.

Foster failing and falling in love with your new dog only to find out that he has been heartworm positive since probably before you found him.

Join Em and Josh as we discuss this heart-wrenching story with Molly about her dog Polo. While this story has a happy ending, it is unfortunately not always the case. On this episode of Straight Up Dog Talk, we talk about the importance of preventative meds and the mental and emotional toll that comes with the treatment of severe health conditions in dogs.

On this episode of Straight Up Dog Talk, our guest Bridget talks about her passion for rescue and how it spurred her to find ways to advocate further for dogs in rescues. After the tragic loss of one of the shelter dogs, Bridget decided that she didn’t ever want another dog to go through something like that again.

Wild Wolfe Pack Treats started because of two bananas that became 200 treats and an amazing idea. Em’s dogs Fitz and Toby are obsessed with these treats, especially the chicken and parsley ones! Plus Bridget’s treats give back to long-stay rescue programs! Additionally, there are now Straight Up Dog Talk Logo Cookies available as we have partnered to help give back to shelter dogs with Bridget.

A new kind of dog podcast

What is Straight Up Dog Talk? A safe space for dog owners and experts to talk about tough topics.

You know... the ones you're Googling late at night because you don't know who to ask or how to bring them up. These are the conversations we SHOULD be having as a dog community, hosted in a forum like never before.

You won't get one perspective here. You'll get them all. While we may not always agree, we'll disagree with empathy and respect. And that's what makes Straight Up Dog Talk a new kind of podcast.
